Anyone have any idea why I might be having a problem copying the wall types set up in Arch Revit over into Struct Revit 10? Once we have linked the file we go into the options within Copy/Monitor and under the wall tab we can see all the different arch types of walls. We have tried setting under "New type" to "Copy Original Type". Gives a ton of error messages while attempting to copy the orginal Arch walls and does not work.... Any tips or suggestions?

have you tried to use 'transfer project standards' and check 'wall types' before you copy/monitor? we copy the arch revit file from a dated folder and place the arch revit file in the same folder as the structural file so we can 'clean' up and purge the arch file of attachments. this also enables us to transfer info from the arch file without losing the link. arch files can have 30 or more wall types so i am not sure you will want to do that. under the copy/monitor options in the 'walls' tab we will use only several 'new types': interior or exterior; bearing, shear and bearing/shear. structurally we only want to know if it is 2x6, 2x or stl stud with what type of shtg applied on what side. copy/monitor is great but with 'coordination review' you will want to limit your 'actions' to lengths and opngs. if not you can un-monitor and lock you lengths and opng's to the linked model. when you copy/monitor arch non-bearing walls they will stay non-bearing in the structural file even though you specified in the copy/monitor options that they become bearing. you will need to go to 'view properties' and change discipline to 'coordination' to see and change the wall 'element properties' structural usage to 'bearing' good luck......
