Originally this thread was about asking for help, but I have since sovled my own problem and thought I'd let everyone else know the solution. If you create a property boundry line using the 'Bearings and Distances' option, and you attempt to 'Rotate Project North' or "Rotate True North" or adjust the Shared Base Point's 'Angle to True North' property, the property boundry line is rotated one too many times in all views -- that is, twice in some views, and once in others. The solution to the problem is to create a new set of property boundary lines in 'Sketch Boundary' mode using the previous set of boundary lines. Then click on the boundary line, press tab to get to the old boundary line, and delete it. You can tell you are on the old boundary line because the option 'edit table' will be available.

For future reference, you are always best to work the other way. That is, to start drawing in project north and to later set true north to the be correct direction. Its much easier, as you only move the shared coordinates and not the project internals.

"For future reference, you are always best to work the other way." Actually, that is what I am doing. I have yet to add anything but the boundary line and topo surface. It's the boundary line that caused the problem. I was just going to define the boundary using my survey data, rotate, and start drawing, but it didn't work out that way...

Thanks CWM9!!! I thought I was going crazy!!! I drew my property with a table and every time I tried to adjust project north the bearings would change in the table. After I found your post I drew over it with the sketch property option and it behaves correctly while the table based property line does not (yes the 2 sets of boundaries actually rotate separately). Looks like a bug in Revit Arch 2010 to me.

And I am using 2012. Look like the bug is still there!

What I do is set the property boundaries using the table, ad the topo surface, click the crop boundary line and rotate the crop boundary line to the position I want to draw the structure.

I don't believe there is any bug here - just process error. I have never had any problems after I correctly learned the process.
