Hey, im having trouble creating a title sheet with our standard 'Work in Progress' stamp accross the middle of the sheet. Its something we use in the preliminary stages. If i put it in the title sheet family, it is stays at the front, and i cant not find a way to send it to the back or make it transparent. Even if i write the text in the layout sheet, its still at the front and wont send to the back. If someone has any ideas that would be great. ive attached an example. Thanks.

I don't quite understand your problem, I mean I understand your problem but the solution seems so obvious. If you add a text to your title sheet family it is possible to make the background of the text transparent. In the type properties of the text you can change the graphics (color, line weight and background). It works fine for us this way, but maybe I missed something of your problem.

Yes i am aware of those settings. When i put my text in the title sheet family, its large and goes across the page. Then i set the properties to transparent and put the text to a light grey colour. Then i bring the title sheet into the layout, but the text is in front of the plans which i have on the drawing. Ive attached a pdf of the problem. It could be something simple which im missing. Thanks

Annotations are always on top and the titleblock is an annotation. However, text in annotations can be set to transparent and that appears to be what your text is. Now for the definition of transparent - all of the white space around the letter is transparent but the letter itself is solid. Even if you place transparent text in "paper" space, it will show like you have. Perhaps there is an outline only text style that may work - I don't know.

Has a solution ever been found for this text transparency issue?

We have an angled "PRELIMINARY / NOT FOR CONSTRUCTION" stamp in the titleblock where the Architectural Seal would go.
There is no way that I know that you can place transparent text across a view while in the sheet or even in the sheet family.

BUT you can place a legend with transparent text on the sheet over the views.
Added: INTERESTING! - The text is not transparent - just the background - except the text is transparent over the view title.
