I was wondering if there is any way to build this soffit detail without any extra lines. I am trying to do some simple line perspectives for a client and want this detail shown without any extra lines. ~Amy

Could you clarify which lines you don't want to see? Can you not just hide the soffit?

The lines highlighted in red are the ones that I am trying to get rid of. I have tried to join the geometry, but that doesn't seem to work. ~Amy

You could try to use the linework tool for invisible lines, then select the lines you don't want to show up.
