Hi,
Does anyone know of a wall family or any other method for designing walls for log cabins? I have a new project to design a real log home that will be built from hand-cut logs about 16" in diameter (not a log kit). I am not sure how to develop a log wall family for this project. A Revit support person told me that the many curved surfaces of a log wall (using a curved profile host sweep over a generic wall) would slow down the program dramatically. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

This is true. Embedded wall sweeps with lots of curved surfaces will dramatically slow your project.
I've never had to do a log house, but just a thought it might be a worth option to use curtain walls...
You could create a curtain system based on your log sizes then apply mullions based on the profile of your logs...
