I have been trying to develop a basic under cabinet light fixture (like in hospital rooms, doctors ofices & such).

It's a face-based 4'x1.875" fixture that needs to attach to the underside of a set of cabinets to light up a counter top. Attached is my current file. I originally attempted to make the ref plane on the top of the surface, but after it failed to mount properly (it would mount on the inside of the cabinet bottom instead of underneath), I tried to make the ref plane the underneath side of the surface. still didn't work.

Anyone have any ideas where I missed or messed something up? did i even start with the right template? lol

Dave

I just brought your family into a test project and it mounted to both the top and bottom of a counter ... I don't know what you are trying to mount to but I think it works fine.

BTW - I did this from a 3D view.

well that's actually good news then. i didn't try it in 3D (with all the rooms we're working with it gets too hard to see and manuver to get a good view.

I'll have to try that though...when you mounted it to the underside of the counter did you do it through a view looking up at the underside? could be why it keeps mounting on the topside when i try it. and when you mounted it to the underisde does the light source shine downward?
