I have created a nested curtain wall panel family from a series of generic family components (exterior-skin, interior skin and a core). When I run a schedule of curtain wall panels only the nested family appears. The subcomponents that make up the nested family do not appear in the schedule.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the sub components to populate the schedule?

First of all, whatever the components you're using to create the curtain panel, you have to put them into some other category, not in 'Generic Model'. You can do this by going into Settings --> Family Category and Parameters. For example, you can put them into Speciality Equipments.

Then you have to make them shared. This can also be done from the same menu,  Settings --> Family Category and Parameters (see attachment). There is a chec-mark for it on the bottom to make the family shared.

Now after loading them into curtain panel family and load the panel into Revit project.

Now when you create a schedule for 'Speciality Equipments', you'll see all your components you used to create the panel family.

Thanks for the insight. By changing the Category to Specialty Equipment all sub-components did appeared in the Schedule.

You can even keep those families in 'Generic Model' category, but then Revitr doesn't allow to create 'Generic Model' schedule directly. You need to tweak a bit.

You'll have to create a multi-category schedule and then filter it by 'category'.
