I'm trying to create a window tag that not only creates a mark with a type number- but also generates the window elevation automatically for my window legend. We have actually customized the look of a section tag (to look like our window tag), which is nice because it tags the window with a type number in the plan view and then creates a section view (that we rename) which shows the window elevation. The nice thing about this is the fast creation of a window schedule- create a view template, apply it, drag it on a sheet- done! My question/issue with this approach is this: with a section tag there is a section line associated with the tag that we can't seem to make go away so we end up with a little tiny line in our plan view that is not wanted. Any ideas out there on how to do this better or get rid of that line? thanks!

Select the 'tag' and override graphics in view by element, set projection line COLOR to white. The line will still be there however it wont print. I assume that you created a new 'style' for this section, if so you can select all instances and set them all at one time

be advised, there are two issues with doing this. ONE, is that it will be hard to locate the line to move the tag. TWO, that if the line is crossing over other lines that you wish to see printed, it will create little white void in the objects it crosses over.

Yes- I already noticed both of these minor issues...unfortunately I also ran into one bigger problem...it actually made the triangle shape around the tag disappear during printing. On the screen it seemed to work great because the triangle stayed blue...but it did not print using the "overide graphics in view" technique. If you know of a way to keep the triangle and get rid of the line I'm all ears... thanks again.

How strange, I know this worked in the past, but as I see now this method does not work. Sorry for the bad info. You could always drag the cutline all the back to the 'triangle' but it will also make it harder to 'grab'. Again sorry, there must have been some internal changes from 2008.

ok, now I remember. This option did not work. After realizing this, I set the OBJECT STYLE - ANNOTATION catagory SECTION LINE, subcatagory BROKEN SECTION LINE color to white. Since I did had only a few broken building sections, I drew detail lines when the broken lines disappeared. This option will only work if you have few or no broken section lines. Sorry
