Im using a brick wall and cut an opening in it. The top is an arch and theres stairs leading up to the opening. Im wondering if I should put crown moulding around the opening of the brick wall. If I should, how do i?

It depends on whether you need to.  If you need to show this because it is to be built and needs to be detailed then you can just use 2D drafting to show the brickwork to the arch.

If you want to see it in a rendered view, then you will need to model it.  The approach depends on what this actually looks like and how many there are.  If there are many, you could create a family for it.  If there's only one, do it as an in-place family, extrude a brick that is the correct shape, give it a material Cryingyou may need to create a new one as the standard brick wil show the jointing in the wrong place) and copy it or array it around the opening.  Do a single large extrusion for the mortar joints that does not protrude out as far as the bricks.  Give that a material.  If neccessary, cut a hole out from the wall where the brick detail occurs.

i did this just the other day, open a new profile family, draw the side sktch of the profile, change the material i brick, and load it into you project. then creat a new wall sweep and use the profile that you just made.
