Hey everyone... I need to put a dummy spot elevation in a drafting view. How would you suggest going about this?

Use a dummy spot elevation symbol.

So, is there a setting to make an elevation tag a "dummy" tag rather than a regular spot elevation? I have a family called "Elevation Tag Dummy Left.rfa"... but it is only accessible to the spot elevation command...

It sounds like you have a smart spot elevation tag that you gave a dummy name .... sorry - that's not a dumb tag. This is simple - look at what commands are ghosted and what isn't. If it's ghosted, you can't use it! Spot elevations are ghosted. You have to have a dumb annotation that you can fill in.
