I'm working on a project that has 7 phases. We are keeping a portion of the existing building. That portion is set to exisitng phase (which technically is phase1). I want all the walls on the exisitng phase to be gray at all times. Does anybody know of a way to accomplish this?

Thanks,

terealva

You can go into the Settings menu to Phasing and, in the Graphic Overrides tab, set the pattern to solid fill.

The problem that I'm having is the following:

I have a view set to phase 7 and I want the existing walls to be gray. If I create a filter to show existing and new, revit considers everything from phase 1-phase 6 to be existing. But I only want to gray out the walls of the existing building.

One option to accomplish this would be to create existing wall types and those could have a gray solid fill. But I'm wondering if there is a better way to accomplish what I want to accomplish.

Thanks,

terealva

Ok, I got ya. Add all your existing items to a seprate workset. "Existing" for example. Go to one of your views and to the Visibility/Graphics Overrides. Under filters click Edit/New, make a new filter and hit Check All. Filter by the Existing workset. Hit OK and add the filter to the list then set the pattern override to solid fill grey. You will have to apply the filter to all of your views, but you can do that with a view template.
