Revit Architecture 2009:

I'm wondering if it is possible to have a door cut through two materials. Here is the senario: I have a CMU wall (corridor bearing wall, stair shaft, etc.) that runs form the first floor all the way up to the top of the buliding... but in some cases an interior finish is needed and in some it is not. So I have decided to just use a plain cmu wall and I created a wall that is just the finish (stud and gyp) and atttach it where an interior finish is needed. It reads well in plan but when you cut a section/ elevation the where a door is it only has the finish on the sides not over the door (which makes sense).  So again all I need to know is if I can cut through the 2 walls with one door?

I've had similar situations. The only ways I have been able to get that to work was to either make it a new wall type, a stacked wall, or fool the program and make the mtl stud and gyp bd. sweeps on your CMU wall.  I have not found a way to make any opening (door or window) cut through 2 walls.

Use the join geometry tool to combine the walls.  The door will cut through both.
