I think the attached picture says it all, but when in 3D view no surface patterns are displaying. They display fine in section and the cut pattern shows fine in plan, but nothing in 3D. Our firm is fairly new to Revit so we don't know what we're doing wrong and searching endless documents and websites resulted no solution. Any help? We have the surface material set as a model pattern and not drafting.

We can not tell from the screen shot if the pattern you are using is a drafting or a model pattern. If you want the pattern to show up in all non-rendered views, it must be a model pattern. Otherwise it will only show in elevations and you will not be able to adjust it.

Is the wall backwards? ( drawn in the wrong direction) Check to see if the other side has the pattern. But if the wall just has one material check to see if Surface pattern is a "model" or "drafting" pattern. If its model try creating another wall to see it that works.

Here's a screenshot showing that model is indeed checked. The wall is not backwards and the pattern isn't showing up on any sides. Also tried drawing a new one and got the same problem.

Hi dlewy...I think that you duplicated one wall to assign that pattern to the duplicated wall, but just for curiosity, are you sure you changed that wall to the new one with the assigned pattern? I repeat, just for curiosity .....

" Hummmm, can you please post here that simple wall to download so we can take a look????" Ok, uploaded. We used the generic Revit supplied wall masonry wall. In the sample I adjusted the settings identical to how we have it in our other file so maybe you'll catch something we're not.

Sorry guys, long week and new to the forum software. Is there a way to include the file in my post (file attachments are limited to 2MB and my file is a touch over 4MB) I uploaded it and it's accessible through my profile either way
