So i've created a partition schedule and now i'm coming back to the plans to change the walls from generic to the types of the partition schedule. In the partition schedule I just used fill patterns and lines. So i added the components in the system family but I cannot figure out how to get the batt insulation to be inside of the metal stud. Is there anyway to make this happen? Or do I just not put the insulation then have to add it manually when it comes to creating my wall sections etc.?

Batt insulation is shown as a repeating detaail and built in. You add it to sections and plans if you want it but is not shown in the wall automatically.

Maybe I wasn't clear. When I add the metal stud and the insulation it is shown side by side not inside the stud. I want it to go inside the stud. How can I accomplish this?

No - you are not clear ... and you are still not clear. If you are adding the insulation, put it where you want it!

Not being rude - just tired of incomplete questions. If you had started with "in my wall definitions" or posted this image - any of us would have told you the answer very quickly. When you say "When I add the metal stud and the insulation it is shown side by side not inside the stud" we can only assume that you mean you are drawing it. I answered it as a wall definition in my previous post with "Batt insulation is shown as a repeating detail and built in. You add it to sections and plans if you want it but it is not shown in the wall automatically." You are describing what determines the wall thickness.... Your stud layer does that so ignore defining your insulation.

Ok, but thinking into the future when I create my wall details sheet; a section through the entire front wall of the building for example (not partition schedule sheet) I would like the insulation to show up. That's why I want to add the insulation in my wall definitions and have it fit inside the metal stud. I'm guessing by your reply that this is not possible, and when I go to create my wall sections I'll have to manually add all the insulation for each wall using lines. Is this correct?
