Hello there, I am trying to get a rendreing of our model and there is a soffit/light shelf in the ceiling that has linear lights in it to wash the ceiling. When I put in a linear light that is 48" long, I render it and the light seems to only be about an inch and it is a hot spot...so I tried to array 64 lights total about 1' apart and I still get hot spots?!?! I even tried to lock the linear light to the length and made it 60' long, still ZERO light showing up at the ends of the light or even a foot from the center of the fixture? What's the point in linear lights if they don't exist? I have to be missing something? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Lorne

Select the light and on the properties palete, for "Light Source Definition" click Edit, then for "Emit from shape" click on "Line" and for "Light Distribution" select "Spherical" (not HemiSpherical), now render in "Medium" quality and check if this solve your problem.

There is also the possibility that the rendering settings are too low, medium and higher settings are needed for lights to render correctly at their sources, if I recall.

Medium is enough to check if the light is working.
