If you need to check some elements in that an absent user still has out in their local file you need to create a new local with their username and relinquish all. I know how to go about doing it I just need to know if there can be any problems doing so. Would it cause a problem if the person still had the local file open and the computer locked so you couldn't just go up and relinquish all normally? Does the absent user need to make a new local file? Any other issues?

When you do this, the user who owns the elements now has a file that is at risk ... that is any changes he has possibly made to elements that are not reliquished may be lost. Usually not a big deal....I recommend that this user makes a new local from the central. If there are any things in his old local, he can open that detached and copy/paste between his files.
