When creating a floor on a brick veneer building, I use the option to have it sit on the structural part of the wall (the timber frame), I think it was called extend to wall core. If I dont select this the floor incorrectly sits on the outer brick wall. Now the issues im having is that it doesn clean up correctly and the brickwork stops between the floor leaving a big gap as seen in the section below. I have scribbled the correct detail I need in red. There is also a problem in that the floor does not completely finish and close off over the timber wall (second red cirlce bottom right) I really need this simple detail to be sorted, how do I go about getting it done?

Detach the wall from the floor - it is currently attached to the u/s of the floor, and then use join geometry to cut the floor into the wall.

tim123 thankyou that worked very easily and was nice and simple. Whilst we are here, can I ask what is the reason to attached a wall to a floor then? Why would this be useful if you need to deselect it for correct details? Thanks again to all that helped me.

It can be very usefull for internal walls to attach to the u/s of the floor.

Thanks again, so just to recap, you attach internal walls to the bottom of floors above but leave external walls as the outer skin needs to continue(not attach and stop at floor level) and the floor will cut the internal skin (effectively attaching it to the floor anyway)?
