I am trying to create a louver system with an array (obviously). To start i create the Louver as a Family and Nested it into the Main Louver Family. When i position and attached the object as a individual it locates and resizes the way i ask it too. But once i attribute an Array to this it messes it up completely and disassociates it to the attribute i attached it too. (i hope that made sense) I have created a Louver Array Integer to determine the amount to array. It seems to throw off my original Reference when an Array is applied. If someone can help i would very much appreciate it. I have attached the file so that you can see what has happened, and if you can resolve it, please let me know what you've done so that hopefully i wont have to deal with this issue again. Create in Revit 2008 (please stick to this)

There are some fully parametric wall louvers in the downloads that work fine. Perhaps it would be easier to grab one of those.

Yeah still the Offset from Floor is messing up the Array... i think it might be with the Louver Nested Family that is causeing this issue. I'm going to attempt something! But thanks for your help, very much appreciated.

No, the problem is not in the nested family, it was simple, just "align" and "lock" the last element (bottom) with the ref. plane

I've got numerous tutorials out there on arrays. Checkout my blog. BY typically if its breaking in elevaiton than generally the nested family bottom reference is set to "not a reference". Change its "is reference" value to Bottom and then constrain by that in the host family. Always constrain nested families via their "defines origin" reference planes and you'll be fine! FOr any array 3D array there are 6 constraints that are needed: array to last: 1st element contrain in X, Y, & Z and last element constrain in X, Y & Z. array to second: 1st element contrain in X, Y, & Z and second element constrain in X, Y & Z.
