Does anyone know how to place false timbers on a wall elevation? I'm doing a swiss style building and I need to indicate timbers in the gable of various shapes & sizes. Is this a vertical sweeps thing or am I creating new components? I'm a newbie and I've never edited anything before, so bear with me.... Take a look at the attached pdf, for what I'm trying to do.

These would probably be best built as in-place family elements using solid sweeps. Not wall sweeps! Look in your H E L P "solid sweep". Your host plane should be set to the wall face.
