I know sheet A014 exists in my project, but it does not appear in the project browser. - I have organized my sheets by building, "all"...regardless, numerically the sheets show A013, A015 etc. - I know the sheet exists, because I can't create a new sheet with the exact same page number. Revit tells me that I already have a sheet with that number. Also, the sheet number still exists on my sheet index. - I can't even take the views that were placed on A014 and place it on a new sheet because those views are obviously linked to A014 already.

If you make a drawing list does the sheet show up? There is no way to hide a sheet from the project browser. If it wont show up there its not in the project. If you are having issues with views saying they are still part of that sheet try duplicating them and deleting the old ones.

Yes, the sheet A014 appears in my drawing list... and if I duplicated the views, and place them on a new sheet...I still can't name that sheet A014. It would have to have some other name.

laura .... Have you audited your file? Under settings, select browser organization and make sure sheets is set to all ... that will create a clean sort.

I know I am responding to this thread merely 5 years too late, but I found the solution!
- In the project browser, right click on the "Sheets" tab and select "New Sheet".
- In the New Sheet dialogue box, all the missing sheets should be under the "Select placeholder sheets" box.
- Select all missing sheets and hit "okay".
Hope this helps!!!

cmelander,
This question was asked before the placeholder sheets function was available but nice try. In this case, the file may have been corrupted and an actual sheet was lost.
Placeholder sheets were used to create sheet names in your sheet list for consultant sheets. They are not necessary if the consultant is using Revit but are useful if he is in CAD.
