I am using revit architecture 2009.

I'm trying to make a floor slab but when I select slab in the structural menu it creates a floor, so I go to change it in the dialogue box and it doesnot have a slab catagory.  How do I load a Slab system family into the project so that I can create an actual floor slab?  I've always wondered what would happen if I were to delete say, all the stacked walls  in a project, would that get rid of the stacked wall system family in the walls dialogue box? How would I get it back to make stacked walls?  I'm sure I'm just overlooking something simple, but what?

Maybe there isn't a slab system family.  I just want to be able to create a slab with metal decking in it and I looked it up in revit help and it says you need to change it from a floor to a slab.  I've seen other posts where people have successfully modeled a slab with decking beneath.  We are sick of detailing in decking and so if it can be modeled that's terrific.  But how do you do it.  I've poured over many posts and can't find one that explains how it's done, it's mostly just people haveing problems with a profile not loading, I can't even get that far.  What am i doing wrong?

You can only assign a thickness and a material to a slab and call it decking but it will not be a model element.  You still have to add the profile when you cut the slb across the deck webs.  BUT - use repeating detail to show this in detail views.
