AllIt's been a while since I posted to the forums over here, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up on something. We have been developing a stand alone utility to work with Revit's keynote files (Excel and Notepad did not cut it). We are now sharing this application as a free download on our website for the Revit community. The quick list of features is as follows: - Add, Edit, and Delete keynotes in a tree view (like Revit displays them)
- Automatic File Backup
- Search Function
- Automatic Casing
I have also included the readme file as a pdf for a more verbose description of the program .To download it, go to http://www.emc2architects.com/revit_tools.html and just click the link.Let me know what you think! Thanks,Steve

Ok, we have updated the program with several additions and bug fixes discovered by us or other users. The current version is 5.1 and it is posted on our website (same place as the original). The attached updated readme file lists the updates in the current version. Please download and try it out! Thanks, Steve Edited on: Wed, Mar 25, 2009 at 4:40:01 PM

Ok, to anyone who downloaded in the last 4 hours, you may want to re-download. I just caught a bug and fixed it. The Keynote Manager would throw up a button if the text file was moved or deleted , but pressing the button would just cause an error. I have fixed this system so that it notifies you properly if this happens. Also, I added some code that allows it to know if the file name changes while KM is open, and update itself to the new filename. Sorry for the inconvenience, new readme is attached... Thanks, Steve

I love this program, however I am unable to change the parent keynote....unless I create a brand new keynote. Maybe I'm missing something obvious?

Glad you like it! Unfortunately you are correct. Currently you can't change the parent of an existing keynote. Based on the way it searches the text file for the note to change or update, changing the parent is somewhat harder than the keynote or the description. I thought the functionality was sufficient to put it out without this, but it is definitely on the to do list so stay tuned for an update... Any other suggestions? Thanks, Steve

Ok, a new version is posted to the website (same link as above); this is version 6.0. I have attached the new readme file here for review. Also, I have started a list of people who want to be emailed with updates, so if you want to be on it just let me know (sfaust at emc2architects dot com). Thanks, Steve

yes it does. There is actually no direct connection to Revit, it just edits the keynoting text files so until they change the format of the keynote text files (which is probably doubtful for quite some time) it should work with any version of Revit.

Ok so it's been forever since I posted on Keynote Manager, but I wanted to let everyone here know that there have been some changes and updates.
I have just released version 10.0 of Keynote Manager under my own company with what I think are some very nice new updates (especially since 7.2 was posted here). For more information and to download the latest version go to www.keynotemanager.revolutiondesign.biz. There is also a web form there to fill out to get on the mailing list for future updates and information if you are interested.
Thanks!
