I am currently trying to open my revit files in Navis works. The architecture model has one origin and the structural model has another origin. I have tried to use the shared coordinates option with the hope that I can adjust the structural model to align with the achitectural and then apply one of the two shared options to record its location. The question I have is whether or not the structural model will re-set its location/coordinates to match that of the architectural model? The probem I am trying to solve is the opening and merging of the different diciplines in Navis works and have everything come in at the same location because you can't move anything around once you have loaded the files in Navis works. Please let me know what I am doing wrong or if there are any other options to make individual models linked together all have the same insertion point.

A second question: How does the origin to origin work and what is the best way to set it up?

 Thanks

Here is a solution that a Navisworks Moderator on the AUGI forum suggested:

To move the files in Navisworks simply right click on them in the selection tree > file units and transform > under the origin area you can now change the xyz coordinates of the entire file. To find out how much you need to move them just link them together origin to origin in acad or revit and measure the distance between known points (most likely grids)

I tried and i could not get my revit arch model to link up in the correct spot. I must be doing something wrong. Let me know if you have any luck.
