Greetings, I am having troubles with Wall openings. Specifically, I created a simple wall and added a tile wall sweep 1200mm high (with base and bullnose top). I then inserted a wall opening (selected from modeling; opening; wall opening) in a wall between my kitchen and dining room to act as a pass thru (pretty typical). Well the opening does not cut the wall sweeps. Can anyone help me with this? I like the wall sweeps idea and need to keep that, i just want them to be cut by my wall opening (not a door or window opening). thanks

Make sure that the wall opening extends to the bottom of the sweep and it should cut it.

can not extend the wall opening to the bottom of the sweep, as that would create an opening from the finished floor. A pass thru window starts at the top of a typical counter top, did i understand you correctly? thanks

Yes you did. If the opening does not extend to the bottom of the sweep you may have a problem (it needs to be at least half I think). You could perhaps try two sweeps of 600mm each. Alternatively, I would suggest a more elegant solution of including the tiling as a wall layer, which you can unlock and stretch down to the relevant height.

i think i will try the wall layer idea as i have never used that and it sounds easy. i dont think that i can edit the wall profile as it would not be a closed loop when i finish; the opening is a "hole" in the wall, not connected to its edges if that makes sense. thanks for you help folks,

Edit profile will still work. It does not have to connect to the edge of the wall so it works well for holes. As a matter of fact - it works well on curtain walls to - try it - you'll like it!
