Hello:  I'm using RAC 2009.  I have imported a site dwg from my surveyor, and have created a toposurface with it.  Now I'm trying to apply shading or shading with edges via "View" settings to present some initial 3D's to a client, and all I get is wire frame for the site (the building is fine).  When I went back to the original dwg to associate it with materials, I must have done something wrong - I'm not at all familiar with Autocad, which is probably why that's not working.  Is there any way to make shading work within Revit?  It's a complex mountain site - do I have to enter each point by hand to make it work?  Or do I have to try to learn how to do something to the site in its dwg form in Autocad?  Any help or suggestions appreciated!

 Thanks, Deb

You say that you have created the toposurface from the cad drawing.  You don't need any information from the cad drawing other than the heights.  You should be able to set the materials for the toposurface in the element properties in Revit.  Attach the cad drawing and we can check to see if it works.

Thanks to all.  I was able to recreate the toposurface and make it work.  I thought I'd done it exactly this way before, but apparently didn't.  Anyway it works now, and thanks to all for their time.
