I am puzzled by using the true and project north. I created a 2d site plan in autocad with the true north pointing to the upper side of my monitor, showing where the main entrance of the house will be located (see screen shot Ture North). To make the house entry face me I rotated the drawing with true north arrow pointing the lower side of my monitor (see screen shot Project North). I imported the dwg in RA2009, see screen shot, now the issue is that the norht in RA2009 is opposite to north of the imported dwg. Does anyone knows how to change the north elevation in RA2009 to be the south, and the east elevation to be the west? Can I rotate them?

I follow the help menu tutorial but it is very subtle at least to me. I missing some steps and is just frustrating me. I need to maintain the project north for correct solar studies. So I inserted a linked dwg file w/ north pointing stright up. So the dwg link has the true north at 90 degrees just like when I create a new project in revit the north is at 90 deg. The issue is that the walls are angled with respect to the north and I want to make the walls orthogonal and the north to be the south (rotated at 180) how do I keep this true north and project north coordinated? Please see attached screen shot.

Needwiz, you always, always work in project north, that means that your project is perpendicular to your view, it will make life much easier when documenting. At any stage you can rotate to True North, I have attached a little tutorial I hope will help clear things out (need flash player) By the way, there's also Magnetic North which is in a different location every year, but that's another discussion altogether

Guys thank for all your help. I after spending four hours of trouble shooting finally got it. For people who are new with RA2009 don't be fooled with the imported link that was the issue for me. when I was rotating the true norht the link was not rotating with it and that complicated what I was trying to accomplish and also after trying and trying some of us get more confused....SO TAKE A BREAK AND START FRESH. Ask for help and search the forum under under true north there is a good link to a video that someone posted. I will paste the link here but for some reason is not working so search for it. Attached are screen shot so you can have an idea of what I had to go through.
