Where can I find some ADA clearance checks. Such as the 5' circle used for clearances? Thank you for the help.

Most people just check the dimensions as the place items ... they draw the 5' circle - it could be a family but why? that would seem a waste. Some people have been really creative and added ADA door clearances to their door families. That could be useful but hard to create and flex because there are so many variables.

What WWHub said is what we did. We have ADA built into our door, sink, and toilet families. With the doors all we have to do is select the aproaches and the clearances automaticly change. It does take time to set it up, but it sure is nice and makes things easy to check. They also then hit with clash detections, so we can run that and find out where problems are.

@broncos4life: I'm developing a door family with ADA clearances that change based on all the necessary variables (front/side approach, push/pull, latch/closer). How did you structure those parameters in your family?
Right now I have yes/no parameters set up for each combination of factors (front approach-push-latch, front approach-push-no latch, etc) with with the visibility of an appropriately sized extrusion associated with that parameter.
It seems like it would be better to have parameters interact with one another. Instead of checking the front-approach-push-latch parameter on, you would click yes for front approach, for push, and for latch. Then the parameters would interact with one another to turn on the correct clearance geometry. Is there a way to do that?
I'm also curious about how you set up clash detections. Right now I just have the clearance area hatched, but I want it to generate an error message (or something) eventually.

You can use integer and Y/N for more options.
See this old post for doors, http://www.revitcity.com/downloads.php?action=view&object_id=11969
Select a door family, in the edit mode, open the properties.
Under "Other", you will see the "Door Type #", click it then select "Modify", which has integer parameter and tied into "Graphics" Type A, B, C,... with Y/N parameters. Combine with those two, you can have more options to control the visibilities.
Hope that helps.
