Whenever I have a partition that touches a concrete column, the entire column immediately becomes wrapped in the 5/8" gyp. finish of the wall. I have turn off wrapping at inserts and ends in the wall family with no avail. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this? Thanks.

You are using the generic column ... you need to use a concrete column from the structural library folder.
