I'm having real problems with rendering a scene with some cars in it. The cars are all different colours of metallic paint from the standard Revit 2009 materials library, some white, some red some silver......but they are all coming out black (see pic). What Am I doing wrong? Have I missed a setting somewhere? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, Gareth

Have you checked the materials in your material settings? These appeared in the list when I downloaded a car into my project and the materials can be changed here.

If you want, pick in the car, edit Family and go to settings>materials, right there you have all materials for that car and you can see what is the name for the paint of the car...

I have all the materials changed to different colours, but they all just render really dark. you can only see the metallic paint when i adjust the exposure to really really bright! Am I missing something here??

I don't remember 2009 well enough to say for sure, but if you go into the material library, you should be able to adjust the preprties of the paint, reflectivity, Gloss, "Angle Falloff", "highlight spread" and the like. The last two I mention there seem to have serious impacts on darkness. So see if you have those as adjustible options.

I've had the same problem,
problem was a corrupt rpc or 2 rpc's to close together
solution was removing all the rpc's, new viewpoint and replace one by one the rpc's
really weird, but it worked
