Hi,
How would i fillet a curtain wall, at right angles or whichever, so that the mullions turn out ok?
The real trouble with curtain walls is that while the curtain grid system works fine, mullions tend to overlap one another at angles.. This is also a problem with circular curtain walls.
Also, with nested curtain walls joined at an angle, i can't seem to get rid of the wall at the joint.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

If you have the same (horizontal) mullion type and they are meeting at the same level, they should automatically fillet at corners.
With regards to nested curtain walls, this is a known issue. Only solution is to remove the wall at this point. Hopefully we'll see it fixed in the new release.
HTH.

Mr Spot,
Thanks for the reply.
I can't seem to get them to fillet nicely, no matter how mightily hard I try. Does it have anything to do with the fact that i'm using ver7? I seem to remember that it fillets quite nicely in ver6, but have no idea what happened since.
Also, vetical mullions tend to cut into each other when place at angles. but i suppose that could be fixed with a proper mullion profile.
I kindda like how curtain sufaces can now be moulded with the massing model, but dosen't seem to apply to regular walls. wish they'd do that.
I've attached a plan view in jpg form.
Off topic, do you guys use revit a lot in brisbane? i'm in sydney, and haven't found anyone using revit. Most companies that I've encountered seem to prefer archicad.

why don't you create a corner mullion? delete on of them and change the second one to the corner nullion.

As eldad suggested where one curtain wall ends and another begins you need to utilise a corner mullion on one segment only.
I'm using version 8 but i don't remember any issues with previous releases and curtain wall mullions. Any particular reason why you aren't using the latest version?
Currently regular walls can only be applied to vertical surfaces, they can still be hosted by a mass however.
Refer attached image with no problems with mitred mullions.
There are plenty of firms in Brisbane using Revit and many more seeing the light with the latest release and the implementation of the structural package. I'm yet to find a firm that has switched from revit to archicad and the dominant switch seems to be archicad to revit or adt to revit.

Hi Eldados and Mr Spot,
Thanks for the solutions! It does all seem very basic now, feeling quite silly..
MrSpot, I don't actually have Revit Building, and downloading it seems to take an awfully long time. I'm actually using the demo version for v7 given to me when I left the firm to study in Uni. Just thought that I ought to pick up where i left off, and hence trying out the new features in 7 @ the moment.
Does v8 offer a lot more over v7? I was going through the release notes and it seems that the major difference is the ability to incorporate structural elements.
How far I take it really depends on if i can find some winter/summer job with a company which is utilizing revit though. Dosen't seem very promising at the moment, most job agencies seem to be looking for people with archicad skills. For now, I'm trying to model some of my former projects in uni years 1-3, but as I've found out with CAD, no amount of toying can beat real world application and documentation... Oh well...

i could really use some help with a curved mullion problem. i have a profile that works great, but where the horizontal curved mullion meets the vertical curved mullion, the horizontal is trimmed off square at the "outter extents" of the vertical instead of running into it. basically, the horizontal mullion end should be curved to match the profile of the vertical. any help? i also noticed that if the circular mullion is used, it does the same thing. revit '08 thanks, jeff
