I have created a simple barrel tile extruded roof. When I copy or mirror the extruded roof to create one exactly like on the other side of my house the surface pattern rotates 180 degrees. The roof is still built correctly, just the surface pattern rotates 180 degrees. Any suggestions on why this happens and how to correct it. Thank you.

Revit 9.1. I have never had this happen before, and am unsure what to do about it. I have even deleted the roof and built it again, and still havethe same problem when I mirro or copy it.

personally i have never worked with that version or much architectural at all, but off my head it would sound like the workplane could be the culprit. sorry if its noob input but its better to suggest than not at all!

You should be able to treat the surface pattern just like a tile wall or brick wall and edit the pattern directly on the drawing. Click on the object and hit TAB until it takes you to the surface pattern lines, then adjust them as needed by shifting and rotating.

The fix is not to mirror the roof, mirror the sketch. Revit does not mirror some things very well. >>> Better yet - If extruded, edit the roof you have and edit / mirror that sketch in that roof session.
