i am a newbie to revit and i have a question. how do i insert a glass door into a glass curtain wall?

You have to switch panel types. Check help for Curtain Wall Doors.

While in elevation tab through until you have the curtain wall panel selected then select off the tree glass single door. If one is not there load or build one. Then select and delete variuos curtain grid segments, mullions and transoms until it looks right. Adjust curtain grids to suit the size and position of your door.
