I'm fairly new to Revit and have stumbled across a problem with my tagging.

I have used our company standard tag on the automatic West and East elevations. The tags don't quite come in where i want them so i move them to suit.

I do this in both the West and East elevation and then chck my sheet only to find that the tags are all linked?

If i move the tags in the West elevation, the East elevation tags move as well! The same can be said for moving tags in East, the West tags move too.

Like i said i'm new to Revit, but as far as i can tell this shouldn't be happening?

Does anyone know if there is a setting i should change or any other solution for the problem.

Thanks

Aaron

I have never seen anything like this but do you "free end" the tag before moving?  Ckick on the tag to move & look on your options bar - select free end - then move the tag.

Thanks for the speedy response. However that did not work.

I tried your possible solution both using and not using leaders and i keep getting the same result.

I have contacted our support group who have in turn contacted CadAssist to try and help.

What kind of tags are these?

You haven't done anything screwy like using  using a dependent view for both because they look the same?

you aren't using Propogate Extents are you? because that would do what you are describing.

Hi Folks.

Since posting this thread i have since found out what was wrong. I have been trained by an employee who was a 'Revit Guru' from another office.

They informed me that for all views, to change position of tags use the 'select all instances' option. This is what caused tags in other sections to move. They have since been given the correct method and a slap on the wrist for telling me a load of rubbish!

Thanks all the same for the help.
