Hello All! Introdicing myself as a newbie... feeling VERY excited when I get this new program, and completely discourraged when I hit something like this today... finally asking for HELP! I created a simple column family and have loaded it into my project. Unfortunatly, it is not fully visible. Only one "blend" shows up, but the extrusions and voids above and below are gone. (?) I have checked all visiblity options all over and find nothing wrong. WHAT AM I MISSING?I attached a screen shot, and the family file here. I am short on folks who could help me here, so have been HUGELY grateful for all help I have received so far from this forum! THANK YOU!! Miller

(BTW - the full column you see in the Word .doc is another one we are not using, but the peice of mine is hovering next to it) So I found the other parts of my column later last night.... approximately 154 feet below Level 1. So they are there, just getting disconnected from the middle blend. When I go back into the family drawing and try to constrain it more to keep it from this , it tells me it would be over constraiing the sketch. hmm.... Thanks for any ideas! I have spent enough time on this... need help!

Hi Millerg - welcome I looked at your column and it loaded fine into a project. When I opened the family though, I noticed that the edges aren't locked to the planes. Stretch them away slightly and use the align tool to align them to a plane. A padlock will appear. Lock it.

Thanks Tim, I got some help from rkitect yesterday and figured that out.... it was not working for me because my base level is at 137' so that it will read correctly in my sheet set... but since my column was not constrained correctly, it was down at 0'! NOW.... I am still not being able to see the lower void panel in elevation. I CAN see the upper flut void, but not the lower one. I have tried all I know to get it to show up.... VG has everything on, etc... what have I done wrong in drawing it that it is not visible?? THANKS for your help. I have attached a >doc to see it in the family drawing, and then in my project drawing.... Miller
