Hello, I'm using Revit Architecture 2009 and in a project I use detail lines to draw pipe lines or drains e.g. to put the rain water in a reservoir, now I want to create a schedule where I can find the length of these pipes. So I need to create a schedule with the total length of a linetype(the blue, green and red lines you can see in the attachment). Have someone done this before or does anybody have an idea how to do this? Thanks a lot

There is a similar blog about documenting the length of escape routes. You can use the same method to schedule your pipe lengths. See: http://revitoped.blogspot.com/2007/01/egress-path.html

Thanks for the reply but I've read that article in an other thread on revitcity before I posted my question. There it is a line in a family, the lines I'm using are detail lines in a project, the the length is already visible in the element properties of the detail line but i can't make a schedule with totals of it... greetings

Yes - you can see the length of a detail line but you can not schedule them.... therefore, you can't add them. tim gave you a method that will work. You basically create a pipe family that is a line. Now it will schedule. I believe MEP will do all of this for you.
