HI all I am trying to show hidden lines on plan of a pile cap with a recess to its underside. I have checked my view range - all is fine. The recess does not naturally show up as hidden on plan which it should. I have tried using the linework tool to channge the line but it changes both the recess line as noted on the attached plan and the pile cap outline. The cap was created as a solid extrusion with a void extrusion for the recess. Please see attached to give you more of a clue. Cheers Jamie

Hi there Yes, I have tried that. I performed that task in wireframe mode and then switched to hidden line mode. The line I want to show as hidden disappears, as too do some of the piles, which should also show up hidden. There is no difference between the piles that go missing and remain, all have similar properties including cut off levels and depth of pile caps above them. One thing I do notice is if I move a pile cap with piles from its origin to a location where they are showing, the missing piles appear. Then when I move them back to the origin they still show when they didn't before in that origin.

Typhoon did not suggest hidden line mode ... he said tool. Look under Tools/show hidden lines and follow the instructions that will guide you - lower left corner.

i know, I said I performed that task (using the show hidden line tool) in wireframe mode. Then when nothing happened I switched to hidden line mode from wireframe mode and thats when the piles and the line I am trying to show as hidden went missing.

I am using this guys. I am wondering if its the way I have constructed to pile cap. When I highlight the object I want to show the line through (as instructed by Revit) the whole object including the lines I want to show as hidden are highlighted, this means that I can't pick the line I want to show as hidden. I formed the cap from a solid extrusion followed by a void extrusion whilst in edit mode of that pile cap. Hope I'm making sense. I still beffles me on a seperate issue, why some of my piles are not showing under pile caps but do if I move the pile cap and piles into a different area? Cheers for the input so far by the way. Jamie

is your discipline set to structural? if is set to coordination the lines will not show correctly unless you are changing them individually. (and that's a pain)
