wsy1syg, You are going to have to differentiate the walls somehow: Use the split face command and then use the paint bucket to apply the different materials. John

okay then- i can't paint one wall two colors. so that means if i have a wall 20 feet long and 10 feet high and i want to paint the top half blue and the bottom half red- then what do i do? edit the wall profile and try to make them into two walls? the bottom 5x20 and the top 5x20 stacked? what would be the best way to do that? anyone thanks..

Both the previous posts have suggested that you can use the split face tool, which has no effect on the wall except to divide up the face. This is typically used where you would like to have the same wall painted two different colours without creating two different wall types. Basically you can paint one wall two different colours.
