My office has just switched over to Revit and I'm doing a site plan. I'm pretty much brand new at it, I've had a bit of training...Anyways I've ended up doing the existing site plan in line drawings just because the survey I was using was flat and I didnt want to go edit everything in that drawing. Now I'm putting down filled regions to show things like asphalt, grass, concrete, etc. I would like to use a tag to show what the materials are but I cant get the filled region to be tagable, obviously it isnt tagable, or I am not doing something wrong. Is there any way I can tag the filled region? Or is there another alternative to tagging the areas I want to?

Thanks

Do you mean tag or keynote?

Obviously - filled regions are not model elements so how could they tag?

If you are using keynotes, select user from your keynote and then point to a model element and pick your keynote.  Change the keynote to free end and then move it to your filled region.

YOU MUST REMEMBER - THIS IS A SMART KEYNOTE AND IT THINKS YOU ARE KEYNOTING A MODEL ELEMENT.  IF THAT MODEL ELEMENT (which may be clear across the sheet) IS TURNED OFF OR DELETED, YOUR KEYNOTE WILL GO AWAY.  A fix for this is to place a model family that just has an invisible line in it and place that in your filled region.
