I am trying to cut a dormer opening in a pitched roof and the dormer roof is curved.  When I use the dormer opening tool and pick the points to cut Revit tells me that the opening is not completely defined and the opening will not be made.  I am using Revit 2009.  I also attached two images showing the roof.

You can do that in several ways...

I tried the vertical opening the opening by face and the dormer opening and I get the same results.  See the attached image.  I need the cuts to be horizontal at the point where the two roofs meet and to be vertical where the wall and roofs meet.

Hello.
I kow this is a very old thread, but I have to ask.
Typhoon: How did you created this dormer opening? Did you put some curved walls to get dormer opening lines to snap or is there another way? It is driving me crazy not beeing abble to sketch.
