We have a client that wants a 30second fly-by.  We have massing model with several housing units and bunker built in Revit Architecture 2009.  Need to input landscaping, people and topography.  Is it possible to export Revit into Google Earth?  How much do you think we should budget?  please help.

Hi intern, I recommend to you that export your Revit file in .ifc file type. Download "ifc2skp" and import your .ifc file into sketchup with this plugin, so you will get the same aspect that you have in Revit of your drawing in sketchup, make changes if you want and then export to Google Earth. About budget maybe someone else could help.....

one obvious thing about animation is that every frame has to

be rendered.. that could really take a long time..

seems like several rendered views would be more practical..

You could export the project to a 3d dxf, dwg or fbx, and make the animation in 3ds max. That is how we do it... But, you will spend alot time on rendering. If you dont have time to wait you  could send the complete *.max file to a renderfarm. That will cost some money, but you will save some time.

i don't know too much about animation- i'm

just using logic.. if you want to animate- i guess 3Ds max

would be good for that because no matter how long it took-

that program would do it automatically- maybe over night..

when the camera moves around the model then you get

real 3D viewing.. but to a certain extent you can also see the

third dimension by viewing from several perspective views..
