Not so sure how well I can explain this in a sentence or two- but when you need to have a new mullion in your drop down menu for your Mullion Tab in Modeling. I found this little trick today. In the family categories in the drop down menu in the left hand corner- there's a section in families for Curtain Wall Mullions. Click the plus box and it will show you what Revit already has in it's data base. This is not an option to "load" into a properties box- Right click one of these mullions, and chose New Type. This will then bring up the properties box for that type of mullion - say a L shape corner mullion- Here is where you can change the mullion properties to your personal needs and then click okay. This will then bring up the different types of mullions in your MULLION TAB when you are setting up your curtain walls. This only took me 4 hours to figure out!!! So hope it helps anyone in need!

I didn't feel like being too much of a pest considering there is about 4 threads with the exact same question and issue- and no answers were linked to theirs!!!

Not 100% sure here, but I'd select all the mullions I want to replace in that curtain wall, then using type selector, choose the appropriate mullion type... If you change it in the curtain wall properties, I believe it doesn't do anything until you create a new curtain wall of that type, then it will populate with new mullions. But I'm suspect on this because I haven't dealt with curtain wall since 2009!
