Hi everyone,

I am a mechanical engineer working on my first Revit job and WOW it is totally different from the demos and training.  The arch dwg is very slow, and the piping solutions don't seem to recognize pipe spaces behind toilets (all the piping solutions avoid the pipe space...leading me to think that Revit thinks it's a mass not void space.)

I have found a thread indicating ideal hardware requirements to run Revit.  Even though I have that hardware, the drawing is very slow.  At my previous job, I ran Revit on a quadcore super computer and even that was a bit laggy.  I am wondering if Revit is limited at this point in time by hardware, or maybe it's something related to the program itself?

Hopefully someone can shed some light!

Thanks in advance

there's lot of things that can cause Revit  to boog down. this white paper from Autodesk may provide you some useful insight to Revit performance
