Most definitely.
I suggest you investigate worksets. It may also be an idea to get some formal training using them. But basically you enable worksets by picking the worksets button (once done this cannot be undone)
You set what workset you want all the model elements already created to belong to. And another for levels, grids etc.
The first save is the central file. This should be placed in a location where everyone has access.
You then do a save as to save a local copy (avoid working directly into the central file). you then work in this file any work you do can be saved back to the central file which will also keep your work up to date.
How you setup your worksets and how you use them, borrowing as opposed to making the workset editable is something that must be planned before hand. And as such i suggest you sit down face to face with the appropriate person with the experience on how best to setup your worksets and use them.
Also checkout the tutorials in revit.
