is there any way with revit 2009 to get a total calculation for a material based on finishes? for example if i have keyed in VCT in the floor finish line of the identity data for a room, is there any way to get a total square footage for VCT in my entire building?

incase this helps show where my information is, and it was linoleum not VCT my mistake.

You might be able to do this with a lot of effort but it is easier to send the data to excell and calculate there.

wow thanks for the video, i have one question though, when i go to the egauls filter i don't see all of the different materials i have entered in my identity data section. am i inserting this information in the wrong place? thank you
