I need to create a folded plate staircase with the following dimensions in Revit Architecture 2008. Riser = 7", Tread = 11". Tread & Riser thickness 7". No Stringer beam. Please look at the attached files to see what I'm wanting to do. I am able to create a monolithic stair case of this type but the Tread & Riser thickness needs to be less than 7".

Look at the stair samples in the on-line area: http://revit.autodesk.com/library/archive2008/html/index.html

Thank yu for your response. I looked at the staircase samples. None of the samples is a folded plate the way I have described.

Sorry but you are wrong! I see exactly what you want. In 3d - look the first stair called "residential spiral" - the straight run. Goto the properties of that stairs and in its type description, change the tread thickness to 7"... see!

No it is not the same as my sample. I have been able to do this any eays. The tread just stops below the outer line of riser. I want the tread to go full depth/ thickness of the riser(7" thick Riser) as shown in my example.

check out the attached file. I think you can get there. mess with the stair properties. I set the stair wwhub referenced to 7" tread 7" riser. It's a start. i'm not sure there is an easy way to clean up the lines except for invisible lines. John
