why would the attached column behave as it does? Model menu: column: wood timber column: inserted "5 x 5". depth and width from "type properties" indicates it should be 4-1/2" x 4-1/2". on sheet it measures 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" same with other columns inserted from same location

thanks, one other question; the "insertion point" was never aligned with a corner of the post. I haven't at this point figured out how to adjust the location of the insertion point. Can this also be done from the family editor?

I think I found it under defines origin? - On the Family Editor Design Bar, click Ref Plane.
- Sketch the reference plane.
- Click Modify and select the reference plane.
- Click .
- In the Element Properties dialog, select the check box for Defines Origin.
