i edited the wall structure of the attached wall image to free the constraints of the wall sheating.

how can I attach the shtg to the roof and leave the top of the wall at the plate height?  I don't want to attach the wall framing which will provide a clean wall section.

see attached drawing

Well, if you don't want attach the wall to the roof, pick in the wall and "EDIT" then drew in elevation view the shape you want...

SORRY, DON'T WORK IN THIS WAY....

Well, create a new one only with that "Layer" and attach to the roof..

seems that what i'd like to do would be the beauty of being able to adjust the sheathing.  otherwise you have to dink with the section if you need that view.

I haven't used "void walls"

Might this be a good way to approach it keeping in mind future changes to wall heights and such?

Well i think i use "create a new one only with that "Layer" and attach to the roof.." then i attach the two walls and use "Join Geometry" between them...
