is there a way to create a new label to the "structural usage" column when you edit the element properties of a beam? i am looking to create something like "existing beam"

Nope. Why do you need it? If it's to control how existing members look, you can do some research on... i can't remember what it's called without Revit in front of me. It has to do with the project timeline. An easier way is to set up a filter for the beams, and apply that filter in V/G.

Cool, glad it worked. I would encourage you to really look into what filters are capable of, I have found them to be incredibly useful for controlling all sorts of things.
