I created a coffee mug as generic model(to scale)... basically i just used a revolve to form the mug and a sweep for the handle.. however.. the mass that i created is dis-formed and edgy(if you look at the yellow mug in the render and in the family..) Why is it doing this? is the scale to small?

Revit facets small round objects, but it does depend on how they are created - see attched image. The cylinder on the right was extruded and the one on the left was revolved. Both have a 50mm diameter.

Yeah, with 2mm on the right is Revolve, and on the Left is Extrusion...

Thanks guys.. I came up with a solution to the problem.. its not the best solution tho.. I just radial arrayed the revolve from a center point about 8 times It seemed to have worked.. but i guess the more times it goes over its self the more accurate it will be.. the handle still needs work.. i just need to fix up the sweep However its not a good idea if you plan to export it from revit.. I like coffee

this issue has been logged to autodesk and they said they are working on it for the next release to get more acuracy on small curved objects particuallry revolves. i wouldn't worry about coffee cups but it is a big problem with hand rails

Hmm.. never noticed it with hand rails, I thought because they were profile-based sweep they wouldn't have the issue, where do the facets occur?(balsters, rails?) I have another question.. why is it when ever i export files to dwg, spherical objects always come out malformed?
