We have created several RPC files using ArchVision's free utility. The problem is that we can't get them to come into Revit's render library. When we try to add a new Family Type to (for instance) RPC-male.rfa, we get the list of files that is included with the isntall disk, but none of the RPC files that we've created show up as one of our options. My best guess is that it has something to do with the assetlibrary.fbx file. Basically, no matter where we put our .rpc files, Revit can't see them. I think I've searched the forums pretty rigorously (revitcity, augi, autodesk, google) and haven't found anything that works. I know there are geniuses out there who can do this, can you put the method in writing?

Ok, put the RPC's in the same folder of the others, but you must CHANGE THE NAME, in 2008 there is no problem with this but in 2009, if you check the name of RPC's in the folder you can see they allways start with "ARCHVISION.......", so, change the name of your new RPC to START with ARCHVISION<name you want>.RPC, i think this solve your problem....

Is there a way to get the RPC files to read from our network server instead of just from our local PCs? That was another cause of this problem. We renamed the file to have "Archvision" in front, but still couldn't see it on our network drives. Then when we stuck it onto one of our local machines to render it, it worked. It's a temporary solution to our overall goal of putting all of our RPCs on the network so that everyone can render them.
